Good morning:
On September 11, 2025, at approximately 2:00am, members of the Boston University community (including the Boston University President) received a disturbing and threatening email with a manifesto attached.
In partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, the Boston University Police Department learned that the FBI has identified a suspect in this case who has been located outside of the United States.
The Boston Regional Intelligence Center and the Commonwealth Fusion Center have indicated that multiple universities throughout the nation and across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts have recently received emails claiming to be from an individual alleging to conduct a racially charged mass casualty incident at the recipient university. The narratives within the emails are similar and frequently contain threats to shoot up the college or university campus.
