Dear IACLEA Non-Sworn Support Section Members,

I am John Thomas, Chief of Police for the UCLA Police Department and the IACLEA Director for the Southwest Region. It is my privilege to reach out to you as part of IACLEA’s commitment to supporting all member institutions, including those with non-sworn campus safety agencies.

The establishment of this section underscores our dedication to ensuring that non-sworn agencies have a voice within IACLEA and the support of our Board of Directors. Your input and feedback are vital in shaping the resources and advocacy efforts necessary for the unique challenges you face.

To further these efforts, I would like to invite you to a virtual meeting via Zoom on December 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM (PST). This session will provide a platform to discuss the current issues impacting your campuses and to explore ways IACLEA can better address your needs.

Additionally, I encourage you to register for IACLEA’s upcoming Non-Sworn Public Safety Academy, which will be held virtually from January 7-9, 2025. This academy is designed to enhance professional development and operational effectiveness for non-sworn campus safety professionals. As spaces are limited, I urge you to secure your spot soon!
