It is with great confidence that I endorse Chief Eric Plummer, PhD, for the role of 3rd Vice President of IACLEA.Eric has been a dedicated member of IACLEA since 2007 and has made a significant impact through his leadership and service. He currently serves on the Board and previously chaired the Domestic Preparedness Committee, where his efforts helped shape several critical initiatives. His long-standing engagement reflects a deep-rooted commitment to advancing campus public safety.Eric’s background is both impressive and deeply relevant. A military veteran with nearly three decades of law enforcement experience, he has spent 18 years as Chief of Police at three diverse universities across the country. Beyond his leadership in the field, Eric is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia’s Center for Public Safety and Justice, where he teaches graduate-level courses on leadership, emergency preparedness, and risk management. He further contributes to national preparedness as an instructor for critical incident management through Texas A&M’s NERRTC program.Known for his integrity and thoughtful leadership, Eric has long emphasized the importance of ethics in law enforcement-a theme he explores in his upcoming book,?Crisis at the Top. His vision for the role includes strengthening communication, enhancing information sharing across all types of institutions, and providing meaningful support for IACLEA members as we face evolving challenges together.At a time when strong, ethical leadership is more important than ever, Eric Plummer offers the experience, insight, and dedication our association needs.
