    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any processes or protocols around supporting students experiencing first episode psychosis or a psychotic episode in student housing or residence?? Those situations where security have repeat calls from neighbours who are concerned about yelling, disruption, etc., but it hasn’t reached a point the person is apprehendable under your mental health act. Would love to connect if anyone has tackled this.

    Thanks, Andrea

    Andrea,

This is a situation where we dig into our available resources. Our student counseling center will conduct outreach. We may have housing professional staff do a check-in, or even the dean of students. Our goal is to show the student we care and that we have resources available to assist them. Sometimes this takes time and multiple attempts.

    Happy to chat!

    Bryant?
